Too much faff

Well I wasn't really asking for all censoring, just thought you might manage a few extra mouse clicks to hold off on the major ones at the end of S5 seeing how it's not long finished & only just shipped on dvd, therefore quite a few folks won't have made the final eps just yet.

But nevermind - fuck you too.

Does this thread, at any point, say "no spoilers"? No, it does not. It is asking people what their favourite series is, implying that in order to participate one must have seen all the series. I would therefore suggest that if you have NOT seen all the series and do not want to be spoiled, you should really avoid this thread. And I speak as someone who HATES to be spoiled and therefore avoided all Wire threads that didn't scream "NO SPOILERS" until I had finished it.

I'll be polite this time - as I said earlier - this is the DEFINITIVE Wire thread, so maybe it's best to wait til you've done with The Wire before you vote?
:)

Daniels didn't do anything other than be a supportive, considerate gentlemanly like person to Rhonda, as opposed to simply showing up at 3am pissed looking for a shag...

Don't forget random spotted by patrol car fuck under the overpass, over the bonnet!?!!

Wrysmile regularly refers to McNutty as 'a dog' and 'a very bad person'. She does love the Bunk tho.

Yes, yes I understand, but thanks for SPELLING it OUT.

Well he did Ronnie in the underground carpark in S1 after they announced the Barksdale thing when they thought Dee was gonna roll over, then the blonde he picks up in the bar in S5 and does over the car bonnet...

wasn't the courtroom car park fuck with rhonda and the spotted by police one with some "random pussy" (as I think Bunk describes it....)? Anyway, I say Bros before Hos and Daniels clearly thinks that particular rule does not apply in his case....

Bunk may be cool, but he doesn't have that sense of watching a car-crash in motion you gets from seeing Mcnulty on one

Yeah, which is what I've been saying...

What are you getting irate about then, with the SHOUTING and the rolleyes? You get irate about spoilers, so it's explained why there are spoilers, so you get irate about someone explaining that. Get out of bed on the wrong side this morning, did you?

Season 4, definitely. Just brilliant. Left me agog. Hehehe, and it's ace because it lets me say 'agog'.

As for fave character, that one's really tough. I can't choose, because I loved many of them for different reasons. So Bubs for his journey, Stringer for his strange way of not being like your typical gangster, Bunk for being Bunk, Omar because he was legendary, Bodie because I, too, loved him by the end, Carver for his growth and the Randy storyline, Norman because his shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit just about beat Clay's in length and awesomeness, Clay Davis because he was one smarmy cheeky motherfucker, Michael because I really felt for him ... I could go on. Oh, and Frank ... I loved Frank so much.

My second to Bubbles is Randy and/or Wallace. I loved them both so much.

What does strike me is the slight lack of legendary-status female characters, the equivalent of Bunk or Bubbles or even Prez. There's Kiima, but she's the only one of the police crew I never really felt a lot for. Beadie is very much a supporting role, and Rhonda and Cedric's first wife are both strong women but not as complex as their male counterparts. I did love Snoop though, and she's probably the most "legendary" of the women.

I didn't say there aren't women in it, more that there aren't any women who have the "legendary character" status of Bunk/McNutty/Stringer etc.

for sure, was just trying to think of some female characters, does that stripper really end up with freeman? i couldnt tell in the final episode if it was the same girl or not

Yeah, she pops up in S2 when Kima goes round to see Lester to ask some questions about strip clubs and where the girls come from (to do with the can full of dead Eastern Europeans) and was last seen studying to become a nurse...

Aren't there ethical issues involved in sleeping with a states witness, if you're a copper? And I just cant picture her with lester in real life. I mean she is fit and he looks like Morgan Freeman (which is cool in a way, but is unlikely to attract top draw lap dancer types....)
