The Definitive B-Movie Thread

Having watched 'Ed Wood' recently (after seeing it when it came out), I got 'Plan 9 From Outer Space'.
I wasn't disappointed ;)

Oh my that's HUGE!! It was a DVD for £1 from the local off license in Streatham Common, a double doozey...Demon House....the image won't load for that....I've kept this DVD for about 15 years despite them both being tragic. I think Demon House has had sequels, admittedly it was better than Driller Killer. A friend also bought it for me, so I had 2 copies for a while!! The warning on the back should have been how awful it was! So bad I can't part with it!

I used to flat in the house they used for some of the exterior shots.

What happened to Jackson? Turned into a colour-by-numbers hack.

That's interesting - the last horror /comedy genre movie before LOTR was "The Frighteners"... Wish he tried something in that genre again

I know it says in one of the reviews "A B movie for the modern era" but I just don't think it fits the criteria.
It's too high budget for starters and did OK at the box office.
I went to see it at the cinema here.

I agree it is a great film. I watched it recently. But really a B movie? Not in my opinion.

I just went past the SciFy channel and none other that Michael Madsen is starring in some aberration called Pirahnaconda.

Unless he's related to the director, I struggle to understand what he's doing there. How the mighty have fallen...

Piranhaconda is ace, seen it before. Some of the worst special effects i've ever seen, quite how the director/producers/actors etc can watch it back and think "yep, nailed it" is beyond me. Still good fun though.

These kind of movies are said to be extremely profitable- the highest return in the film industry, proportionally speaking. So I guess it's mission accomplished as far as the studio, director and producer are concerned.
