The decline of whistling - why?

Tbf, when teenage girls sing on the bus in that warbly r'n'b Mariah Carey way it makes me want to kill things.
You people are so irritable!
Singing, whistling, talking on the phone, playing music - you can't do anything fun on buses anymore!

If I'm whistling then I'm really happy. If someone asked me to stop whistling I'd have to kill them.

My happiness comes first.

So do I! Get a walkman or learn to zone out the outside - I find this very easy.

You've had therapy to learn this. I cannot "OMM" as easily as you!
No, I've always managed to exist in my own little bubble - when my attention is required people at work have to shout at me several times or hurt me until I acknowledge them

I like whistling but I think it should only be done in the open air.

I found myself whistling on the way back from the swings this afternoon, then caught myself and remembered this thread, then thought "fucking hell, I'm thinking about the internet on a nice sunny day, what am I doing?" By which point, I'd stopped whistling.

This is why the internet is evil IMO.
:D :(
