The decent chap managers thread

Steve copell is the most boring man on the planet though.

Moyes is a twat.

I like Hogson, zola(obviously) and liked hIDDINK AS WELL.

Martin Jol - was gutted about the way the spurs board treated the big guy.

Rollem hates him.

yes, i do. i just can't find anything likeable about him. he is a good, great manager in fact. but i think he is a bit arrogant. a bit of a twat. just a bit unlikeable

i vote holloway, and nigel clough

Alex Ferguson.

Always willing to lend a hand in refereeing matters. Look, here he's even warning the assistant that a nasty wasp is about to land on him. I cant think of another manager who'd be that kind.

Defo Sir Alex, knight of the realm and well deserved:)

i also have a soft spot for Kinear and Shearer for taking the toon down and Souness for working his magic on the pool:)

Anyone for Jack Charlton?

Especially when he lost it with that FIFA guy with John Aldridge at the World Cup v Mexico 'You're a f**king twat mate' etc.. :D

holloway is one of the most decent men you'll find in football

He apologised to our players the other day cos we'd not done enough free kick practice apparantly and blamed himself for not winning the game against Cardiff cos he reckoned we weren't quite on the ball with free kicks. I can't imagine a lot of managers unbidden by the interview, explaining how they'd apologised to the players and pointing out what they believe to be a shortcoming of their own.

I'm still a bit cautious tbh, just seems to have moved about a lot and stuff, but he is winning me over

He had a big ramble in the same interview about how our players were a lovely bunch of lads cos we'd had some kid in who was ill or something and they'd spent loads of time with him and he hadn't asked them to make a fuss, they just did and how that meant the world to him and showed everyone what our lads are like and he just thought he should mention it as footballers get a bad press a lot, but they aren't all bad...

The question was about 'are you dissapointed with a 1-1 draw...' and he just went off on one about something else :D

3 of ollie's kids are profoundly deaf and while he may have behaved badly at times (walking out on plymouth), he's a thoroughly good man who has a decent perspective on life and understands exactly what his and other people's priorities should be. despite never being lucky enough to see him play for us, he's still one of my heroes and one day i hope to see him back at rovers.

Oh, I know about his kids and that and don't doubt he's a lovely fella and he's very entertaining and all that, just don't want to see him walk out on us after 12 months. Plus, with us, he's come immediately after Tony Parkes, who is another one of football's gents was treated atrociously by us. So far so good in terms of his signings and management style and everything really. It's also good to see us getting some press because of Ollie and maybe one year because of that, we won't be tipped as dead certs for relegation as a 'little club' out of their depth despite the fact we've coped very well with the last two years, despite losing our best players every close season....
