Actually, it gave quite a varied portrayal of Indian society including the poverty but what I liked about the film was that it wasn't concerned with making particular points about India for the benefit of western viewers who have never been there ( me included.)
Apologies for putting you off the film, almost regret mentioning it now!
Am just a very occasional poster, so didn't see the other threads on this.
It was slow moving, funny in places. It was just a film with people doing things both significant and insignificant to them, in beautiful surroundings.
