The book was a good read for a young school boy,I just hpe it never becomes a compulsory read, the art theory was crap and I believe this attracted a huge following.

The hi-brow image of understanding art or at least one painting gave a large number of readers that' little something'. Not quite sure what the little something was but I can see the now newly informed reader expounding
to his or her friends the new understanding of art. The fact most of it was wrong, well when did that ever stop any one?
I never finished the book, got half way and gave up, and I think the same might happen if I went to see the film.
I'll have to wait for the New Harry Potter before I venture into the cinema.
