The Da Vinci Code

What confused me is what was the point in the Knights templar hiding Mary Magdelenes body when there was no way to proove who it was when they first hid it ( in fact there is no way anyone can proove that it is mary magdelene in that coffin anyway ) so I don't see what the catholic curch is so bothered about .

saw it tuesday with a couple of mates, I nearly fell asleep, by the last 10 minutes you don't really give a shit what it is or will they find it, and.......they don't find it, so big let down anyway.

I haven't read Harry Potter or seen any of the films and I have no desire to read the Da Vinci Code or see the movie.

I'm not even curious.

Ack! Who cares. :p

Oh tut, Poor Mr Brown, slaving away over a hot word processor, an Amstrad, I'll bet, for all that money and nobody, well, not literally, giving a dam.

The book was a good read for a young school boy,I just hpe it never becomes a compulsory read, the art theory was crap and I believe this attracted a huge following.
.

The hi-brow image of understanding art or at least one painting gave a large number of readers that' little something'. Not quite sure what the little something was but I can see the now newly informed reader expounding
to his or her friends the new understanding of art. The fact most of it was wrong, well when did that ever stop any one?

I never finished the book, got half way and gave up, and I think the same might happen if I went to see the film.

I'll have to wait for the New Harry Potter before I venture into the cinema.

Gonna see the film tonight, haven't read the book. I don't really want to see it, mt mother-in-law's insisting we all go, just to check that it is shit. I think it will be....

I just can't understand why anyone would go and see a film that they don't want to see, of a book they haven't read and don't want to read, just to make sure that it's shit.

Save the money and spend it on beer!

I watch shit films cos I'd rather watch a shit film on DVD than watch whatever's on telly.
I also like to slag off shit films more than I like praising good ones.
Too many people slag off films and books that they haven't read and I don't want to be a hypocrite!

I really enjoyed the film, I don't care what the critics say, I loved it. I love the whole mixing fact with fiction thing, it's clever and entertaining. Paul Bettany was brilliant.

I liked it too. A enjoyable waste of two hours. While not the greatest movie ever made and not enough SFX to be a proper summmer blockbuster, it's not the worst film I've seen.

I really don't understand the virtrol for it from some corners.

'Cause it aint art etc.. Ian McKellen was excellent.. Anyway.. I was knackered and i didn't fall to sleep so it must've been good.

Read the book then

And what do you mean by 'not enough SFX'?
Does a film have to have loads of SFX to be good/popular these days?

Yes, but I fall into the camp of not reading a great deal (apart from the Indie) so I really liked the book.

And to be a big summer blockbuster you do seem to need SFX nowadays. Independance Day started the trend I think - and every summer each blockbuster has tried to out do each other on the SFX front.

Oh yes! McKellen is the best thing in the film!
I watched it in the cinema at Butlins (hiding from the kids for a couple of hours!) and I quite enjoyed it.

I'm concerned now.
I've just admitted I'm low-brow!:D
