The Cure

Ooh. I turned it off after the intermission so will watch this when I get some time to myself. Cool.

I've seen a few journalistic attempts to sum up The Cure recently in 5 or 10 tracks. Difficult ?
Nowhere is the "Drowning Man" which I'd say is their most perfect record....

Unfortunately, I’m not feeling it. I find the production very muddy and the songs aren’t doing much for me either.

It’s fine though. I’ve never been a huge fan outside of the hits, and I am totally ok with that.

Yes, I'm finding it similar. I'm not finding the songs very memorable, and I'm not a fan of the overall sound.

But I last took an interest in the Cure on record in the late 80s - though loved seeing them live in Hyde Park in 2018 and would be interested in seeing them now.

I am a little disappointed as I think I was expecting a masterpiece after all these years. Only listened once so not my final opinion.

I can say Alone and Endsong (which are really one song) are utterly sublime. I felt such a melancholic sadness weighing on me as I listened to them. Which is what I was hoping for.

Having practically lived in the new album for the last couple of weeks I'd like an official release of a live version of it. Endsong at The Troxy was even better than the one on the album.

Fucking love this new record. Up there with Disintegration as my favourite Cure album ever. My Xmas present this year is money to see them when they tour next.

"More exciting Troxy news this Sunday" according to their newsletter.

Another gig do we think? Or are they releasing that gig as a live album?
theres a single released from it. tho I couldn't tell if it was actually a physical thing or not
