The Comic Strip presents....

You have to watch Strike, the funniest Comic Strip of all,Al Pacino as Arther Scargill :D the Bullshitters and Supergrass are quiet good as well.
Strike is great. Al Pacino as Arthur Scargill and Meryl Streep as Joan Ruddock(?). It;s been a long time since I've seen it so it may be Glennys Kinnock that Meryl was doing.
What was the episode where they had to "take out" someone?

Mr Jolly Lives Next Door

the best three are Mr Jolly (dir by Stephen Frears!), Didn't YOu Kill My Brother and The Yob..

Jolly reappeared last night on More4, hadn't seen this for 20yrs  still as funny as when it first came out, it's a pity they went on to do all that bottom brothers rubbish. It's slightly surreal that withnail & i was being made at the same time as some of the pub dialogue seems almost the same.

It's amazing how it predates 'league of gentlemen' in darkly comic characters and creating a surreal parallel world. Latching onto the cult of celebrity also seems prophetic. Peter Cook appears as an aging teddy boy serial killer, class.

My favourite was 'Eddie Monsoon - A life'. Also where Jen Saunders got the name for her Ab Fab character, nicked it off her husband.

Eddie Monoon's final words - 'Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, Oh God, Oh God. Give me another whisky, you bastards.'

:D

Mr Jolly Lives Next Door is a must inho as is Eat the Rich featuring Lemmy of Motorhead...fave Lemmy line

evil boss: Did he swallow it? (about a poioned meal)
Lemmy: Like a fifty dollar blow job boss! :D

'tis a Peter RIchardson film
dunno if it is strictly a Comic Strip effort

I see no one,s mentioned Slags yet....
I found Adrian Edmonson's impersonation of Rutger Hauer playing Roy Batty extremely accurate, & as for Anthony Head in a Hawaiian shirt. well....:D
"One day, when I have the time, I'm going to take all his skin off....".
Kid Madness - Slags
