The Colour of Magic

Physically I see Rincewind looking more like John Cleese as he's sposed to be all knees and elbows ain't he. Tall, skinny and gangly.
Not sure if he could do cowardly well enough though.

If Johnny Depp combined his portrayal of HST, the guy in Sleepy Hollow and Jack Sparrow (for the beard) it would about hit Rincewind imo.

Colour of magic doesn't strike me as the best discworld book to make for TV tbh, particularly considering the rather abrupt ending and the fact that, more than the other books, it's very much part one of a story that ends with the 'light fantastic'.

If it was me, I'd do one of the watch books. I hardly need to point out that Vimes would be played by Paddy Considine from dead man's shoes.

If I had a time machine for Vimes i'd go back to 1965 and get Clint in.

On another note, I met a bloke with a full arm tattoo of FABRICATI DIEM, PVNC.

I think you might be right about Carrot, but Vimes would have to be a bit more nondescript-looking I reckon. Someone quite short I reckon, especially as this would make Carrot look bigger. Timothy Spall = Fred Colon obviously ;)

Just top the thing up with quality British actors and you can't go wrong.

If Maggie Smith hadn't done Potter, well actually her Potter work is basically Granny Weatherwax ;)

Can't think of anyone else who could play her really.

The real question is, who should play Death? Is James Earl Jones still alive?

He'd sound too Darthy though :(

I'd resurrect Johnny Cash :D Or just vocoder someone down there.

Jim Broadbent as the Dean? :D

Yep, good call... Christopher Lee would make a good Vetinari imo. Or as a voice for death.

Er, he is the voice of Death in this one. Presumably because Ian Richardson died after playing the part in Hogfather. And Lee already played Death in a couple of Discworld cartoons back in the 90s... so they've got his voice on tape for those ones, just in case. Well, he is very old. :)
