When you stop embarrassing us Scots, I'll stop telling you to stop embarrassing us Scots.
Us scots?

I don't feel embarrassed by how Chorlton writes, why don't you just use the ignore function if you do?

More things to get het up about than how someone spells on a messageboard ffs

what.the.fuck?

then yer not a celtic supporter are ye? ye might have been in the past, but i think that you really should change that last statement to "i used to be a celtic supporter but for this season i will be a Hearts supporter"

Methinks he is just fishing for the response that you gave him! :p

We shall not, we shall not be moved by the Hears the hibs or the Rankers we shall not be moved.

Fuck hearts hope they finish third. Celtic first, Hibees second good exciting young team, hearts third or well anywhere above the filth.

bollocks... is that really why you want hibs to finish second?

Personally, I don't give a toss for their "cafflick" leanings, I want them second because of Mowbray, one of my celtic heroes when I was growing up. Lets face it, we didn't have much to look upto in the early 90s

fair enough ibem, but I think it's this attitude amongst some celtic fans in particular, that because hibs history is catholic they prefer them to others - only helps to keep all the unwanted religious issues in football.

utter balls arab, utter utter balls, easter road (not so much now but certainly was) a horrible moody place to go, ye were just as likely to be called a fenian fucker there as you were anywhere - nasty set of fans on them - but in a league full of teams like motherwell and hunfermiline they are the least worst option - them and livi.... now i'll wait on you coming back and telling me that livi are a catholic team, but really the answer is simpler than that and ibem has already given you a clue....

The idea that i would favour a football team because their followers believe in the transubstantion of the eurcharist during the sacrament of communion is perhaps one of the most ridiculous things i have heard.

Anyway, the winning run has ended, and Gordon is suspended for our game against them. A not bad sunday afternoon considering.

Chorlton, I've heard our fans come out with some shite in all my years of going to ER but nothing of that nature.

I've posted before about sectarianism at the Hearts, and indeed Hibs, being something that's wheeled out for the benefit of the OF. So when Celtic come to Tynecastle you get the Billy Boys, but very, very rarely against us. Likewise the only time you see tricolours at ER is when the huns are visiting.

Well done Falkirk and Yogi - I can see why HWG put that bet on, I seem to remember them beating the Jambos 4-0 a few seasons back in the cup. Shame we're currently getting fucked though.

I don't think it's so ridiculous Chorlton.

Fair enough, good argument as well

anyway, teams I love and why:

Hibs, for the afore mentioned belief in the transubstantion of the eurcharist during the sacrament of communion

Aberdeen for their devotion to the Saint Padre Pio, manys a game at pittodrie a bit of the glove will be passed around the supporters

Dundee Utd. - they do a lovely stations of the cross and holy week celebration up there

Inverness CT - The TIFO display depicting the virgin mary is a sight to behold

You still haven't answered my question arab. You are flinging innuendo's about me and I want you to say what you meant by is that 'really' why you want hibs to finish second?

its hard to take them seriously hibee - they're hearts just aren't in it like yer jambo cousins, ye can tell their just callin us it to try to illicit response - a bit like the tricolours against der hun, they couldn't give a fuck just want to wind them up.

and i would never begrudge a football fan that.

Especially since i seen yis all out at Mass this morning.

I'm just curious as to why the majority of celtic fans on this board, yourself included, seem to be happy to see hibs do so well.

Fair enough they've got a good young team, that's a perfectly legit reason.
But I'm just wondering if there's an element of bias there with the fact that their background is rather similar to your team.

the clue was in there....

well normally I am not very interested in Hibs to be honest so I doubt its the background well for me anyway. Swan and the flag incident also ;) Or if it was background we would have wee soft spots for Dundee Utd also would we not? For me its more to do with Tony Mowbray as Ichbineinmod says also they have a crackin set of youngsters playing exciting football at the moment. again I kinna like Livingston for davy Hay and paul Lambert etc.

i actually met Lambert after the game top bloke. :D

Fair enough mate, sorry for being insulting with my initial remark.

Hibs are a bit different to united though, united no longer play in green for example. Also, (correct me if I'm wrong) Edinburgh still has an element of if you're catholic, you'll support hibs. We'll it did when my old man was growing up anyway. Dundee's not so like this.

Also the fact untited fans sing "hello hello we are united boys" every week tends to wind your lot up...worth noting, it's nothing like the version the rangers mob sing, and is always directed against Dundee fans. Still gets booed to fuck, right enough I guess. But I think united fans see it as a football song, it's the word surrender that doesn't sit well with me. But I think the fact it's even sung by the arabs suggests that any roots have long been forgotten.

No probs mate. It just gets annoying that often being a fan of Celtic you need to justify yourself or any of your opinions. Furthermore for a team thats fans are meant to be narrowminded etc I have seen some very narrowminded remarks made against Celtic also. If you catch my drift.

*goes off to throw darts at jock 'proddy-dog' stein poster*

On the subject of TM and the Celtic connection. Still very strong I gather. Patricularly enjoyed hearing Celts fans singing "There's only one Tony Mowbray" at Tynecastle last year :D
