3m for connolly is a fantastic price. Wigan have surely been fleeced there.

I think Hume looks a very decent player too, at a good price. I'd hoped Palace might sign him.

they were properly desperate. £2m now, rising to £3m on appearances.

we could have bought a £1m striker for that :(
 
on a plus side, langley is coming back

and we got some old bloke from west ham....

As for Carlisle, at his worst he looked like another Duberry in the making. There's been rumours of a fallout with Blackwell and that he might be back on the piss.

I don't know much about Creswell but was a bit puzzled by his signing. Cover in central defence and an attacking midfielder should have been higher priorities. But with Bakke now gone I think we'll be seeing more of Blake in midfield.

This season's looking promising. Am reckoning on the play offs at least. Bit worried about where the money's coming from but with Bates in charge he's never going to tell us what's going on.

so far we've played slightly better than last season but that's about it. to be fair we did very well against norwich on saturday - but everybody's pissing on them at the moment.... :D

we definitely look more solid in defence and are stronger up front - but there's still a lot of room for improvement in midfield, especially in the centre where we've lost johnson, bakke and spring and replaced them with one very unspectacular loan signing from blackburn's reserves....

I think the playoffs are a realistic possibility but we still need to strengthen the squad with a couple of decent midfielders....

Desperate?! DESPERATE?!!?! they tried to sign DEAN WINDASS for £600,000!!!! I don't know what the word is, but they were WAY PAST desperate!!!!

Craig Levein has really fucked up here, paying a fee for Elvis Hammond smacks of desperation - he's known that Connolly was a target for Wigan for weeks, why the fuck was no-one lined up?! :mad: :(

We're gonna be down here for a while.. the days of Leicester as an established top flight club are long gone :(

Wolves did well against QPR after thje infuriating Cardiff game and of course losign to dirty Leeds ;)

I saw your teambus in Brighton today btw - very la-dee-dah I must say. They were crusing very slowly past all the lovely ladies on the seafront - is there a lack in Sheffield or something? Blacked-out windows 'n' all, which made it very hard to see exactly who I was giving the finger to. ;)

QPR v Luton last night, what a rubbish game of footy and a waste of £24. QPR are a horrible ugly dirty team - we played them off the park first half but did ourselves in by not scoring. Then we fell apart in the second half - that's the first time we've been outplayed this season I reckon. Bah.

I'm glad Rollem's in Majorca or she'd be talking the piss the big time, haha!

But we're still 4th :)

Now we signed Vincent Pericard on loan from Portsmouth who is supposed to be pretty good at this level so looks like the best squad in the league just got better!

Hurrah!

Now here is a man who clearly knows his footy !! Doffs hat ! [The Red & White striped one !] Stoke are actually playing flowing football under Boskamp and although there will be blips along the way [Watford was never a 3-0 1] I think we will be there or thereabouts !!

So, top of the league still (well we would've been anyway but it's not like we were ever gonna lose to Watford was it?! Think they'll be challenging W*dnesday for bottom spot now their winning streak is over - back down the table where you belong!)

I'm just finding it very difficult to think of any teams in this division who might actually be able to give us a game! :D

bump this thread, some very big mid week fixtures comming up a massive

game for Palace we play the scum of the south coast on Tuesday night

and Sheff Utd the team everyones got to stop travel to Millwall :eek:
