The British cheese invasion of France

stdPikachu and I went to Sainsbury's last night with the intention of buying one or two things.........until we got to the deli counter and bought some Cornish yarg (covered in nettle leaves), some cheese called tintern or summat (?), some pheasant pate with apricots and some lemon stuffed green olives

We also have some wensleydale, some hard goat's cheese (kind of like a cheddar), some brie and some boursin!

We eat way too much cheese :o :D

cornish yarg is wonderful!

It is indeed. And it was an accidental discovery!

stdPikachu went to Sainsbury's a while ago and bought some cheese from the deli counter - he was pointing at the chevre (one of my favourite cheeses) but the person behind the counter thought he was pointing at the Cornish yarg. He got home and I said 'No, that is definitely not chevre' :D but we thought it was bloody delicious anyway so all was well :)

what is tintern like?

It's a bit weird, it's covered in bright green wax and the texture of the cheese is a bit sticky (think Port Salut), it has little bits of onion in it and it has a strong cheesy/oniony taste.

I may have to go eat some more to be more specific ;)

probably not my type then, I like the cheese to taste of the cheese. if I want onions with it, I'll add them myself. but do carry on your research in cheese, it's all for a good cause, of course....
