jesus.

china drum were the ultimate kiddy punk band - they were just a joke.

bollocks. they were great songwriters, a fierce live band, came from a sound tradition (Leatherface et al)

Guns & Wankers are. :)

if you like joke side projects that is.

your mum, in the early days at least, were great. simon taking the mod side of snuff to the logical extreme and getting in a hammond organ. they didn't quite live up to the concept, but it was a valiant effort.

guns'n'wankers were, to my mind, just the joke side of snuff. it's a shame the comedy/adverts side of what they were doing was so popular - there was some spectacular, and very serious, melodic hardcore stuff on 'snuff said...'

i agree with that. they were a great mod band in a way, even though people seem to think they're fucking ska punk or something. Stuff like That's Fine

god, and i only put Therapy? in to make up the numbers :(
Yeah, I was just about to post that I'd voted for the joke option when I see that everyone else has voted for it too :o

it was, but then garage was a term to describe late sixties psych punk, so it's all swings'n'roundabouts.

Yeah same with R'n'B I suppose.

There is a german wikepedia entry for Britcore but not a english one which is a bit weird. Those germans love our early Hip Hop, the Hijack LP was only ever released in Germany alongside the UK I think.

Wat Tyler from that list :)

They were shambolicly brilliant. They deserve my vote just for the booklet that came with their Sexless 7".

I love the brit sections in Japanese hmvs, they have like London Underground logos all over them. They call it something funny but I can't remember what it is. The odd thing is there are always loads of bands that are advertised as massive in the UK yet they quite blatantly aren't. I'm over again in a couple of weeks so I might take some pics.

I've got that record! Didn't vote for them though cos it's the only one I do have.

I used to quite like china drum, and seeing as I've only ever heard them and therapy? they get my vote.

Voted for Leatherface but have to give an "honourable mention" to China Drum for the unique cover version of "Wuthering Heights".

If Mr. Version had got his finger out and made the poll a multi-choice 'un I'd have voted for Brocolli and Bob Tilton too. :p

therapys pleasure death and babyteeth eps / mini albums whatever are absofuckenbrilliant - but the rest is obviously all plop.... but i'm not altogether happy with this list - the options seem too disparate for my liking - were it to be my favourite band out of that lot it would be leatherface tho
