No, I'm Reno Dakota from the Magnetic Fields song :)

PS: I'm not a big fan of Leon or anything by Luc Besson I'm afraid. Jean Reno is  though.

Subway is ace...

Try "At the end of the day - i still think that people who think that Bourne is a decent film are probably idiots."

Some might say that you've rather undermined your own point :p
In their (shared) opinion of course ;)

I liked 'Ronin'. It's in the same vein as Bourne, set in europe, serious chase scenes, and that french guy is in it.

Still ain't ruddy seen that. It was on the Beeb t'other week and I missed it again!

Oh woe is me.

Jean Reno is definately a  French motherfucker.

Ronin is way better than Bourne Identity...

I agree, completely.

In spite of Natascha McElhone's utterly lamentable Northern Irish accent... even she admits that, but it's OK really, I forgive her, because she's great eye candy... ain't ya Nat!
Gwan, ya good thing ya!

;) :o

Mmmm.... she walked into my shop once.

She's very nice *drools*

Never seen Ronin and I'm looking forward to. I think I might have seen part of it once on Sky. If it is the one I'm thinking of, it had what I can only describe as the very best car chase ever filmed.

How about when that guy jumps out the window?
You think he's dead, and suddenly he springs to his feet and crashes throught the glass doors.
And then he's dead.
Hilarious.
Made the whole thing worthwhile
(I'm not an idiot either)

LOL!
Dude, get over yourself!

I thought the film was shit as well, And Matt Damon was so unconviing it is untrue, It was like the film 'Teen Agent' He was ment to be this great master agent at 19, what the hell was he, a child spy?

Wouldn't have called it shit, but what could have been a tolerable film was ruined by Matt Damon looking barely old enough to be out of boy scouts.

This is on tonight. I've never seen it. But a friend recommended it to me recently, likening it to North By Northwest. I'm unconvinced. It really doesn't look like my sort of thing. But I've never seen Matt Damon in anything, and I'll try anything once, so I'm going to give it a go.

Atta boy, live dangerously. :) The dialogue's not up to much, but then again it hardly ever is in action films.

It's like you're setting yourself up for failure.

Yes but what about the special effects... and the fight choreography...? Come to think of it, both of those are much better in other films. As you were.
I wouldn't watch a film especially for fight choreography anyway. Those are the bits I go and make a cup of tea during. And by special effects, do you mean things blowing up for no good reason? Meh.

IMHO few action films are worth watching if the fight choreography is as bad as the credibility of the plot. As for special effects - whenever a yellow billowy cloud is supposed to be an explosion not caused by petrol, it's so unconvincing that it's distracting.

In my experience, this is the case. In fact, I've never come across a film described as an "action film" that I've thought worth watching (though I keep an open mind. There may be one out there). The "genre" just doesn't interest me. However, a friend particularly recommended this one to me. (During a conversation in which she suggested setting up a film club. I am now disinclined to join it).

Mindless entertainment - just let it wash over you. FWIW if ever stuck watching television or films in a country where you don't speak the language, action films, slapstick, porn, or westerns are the way to go - all of them are easy to follow even without understanding a word.
