It's interesting on all sides really, the threads in question seem to draw out naivety or down-right hatred from all quarters. If I were to ask you, or most of the anti-brigade on here, how many Englishmen or women that you've met were decent sorts, you'd probably say most, yes? Yet still we get the lazy generalisation of arrogant English. I had a run-in with a chap in a shop in north Wales once, he behaved in a racist manner to me and my father and was lucky to not get a severe kicking. Do I go around saying the north Welsh are racist miserablists? Of course not. I know that there's a minority that like to take the piss (in a way I think it's quite funny, though the fellow in question was just a rude cunt) but I also know from experience that most are just average Joe's going about life not giving us a second thought and being very pleasant. You know, like the English. And the French, the Germans, Belgians etc etc..

I'm not denying some people are idiots, or have said stupid things from the English perspective obviously, and the meedya is just a joke.
