The best old-skool house comp ever ...

I'd say 'yes' but I'd never get round to it and then everyone would be pissed off with me.

Being honest, like.

The SOR album is full of corker tracks.

Just thought of another too, Brother in Rhythm Such a Good Feeling/Peace and Harmony (Sasha's remix)
Yes, the SOR album is great (and released on ztt curiously)

Amazed everyone likes Altern8. I thought they were a fucking joke.

they were a joke

and to me the criteria for proper old skool house means pre-1992

which means half the tracks on this thread red-carded!

I'm going to add Doug Lazy's "Let It Roll"...

Is there anybody out there - Bassheads

^^^
This

BMEX - Appalonia
Direkt - Two Fat Guitars
Gat Decor - Passion
Mombassa - Cry Freedom
Sunscreem - Perfect Motion

Man, I can almost hear the clarion call of the whistle posse:)

Thanks for all the recommendations, everyone - Soulseek's throwing up a few gems thanks to this thread.

'Ozone Breakdown' particularly. Had an 'aah, that's what this tune was called' moment with that one. Thanks, pk.

LOL no worries, spent many a night back in the day dancing 'the running man' to that one, it was made for it. Filthy tune.

Glad that Love Can't Turn Around was mentioned, I remember Daryll Pandy doing it on Top of the Pops in 1987, before the phrase 'house' was coined, I knew I loved it but never expected to love it quite as much as I ended up loving it.

Fuck, 22 years of caning it to house and techno...

;)

how did you work that out then? whilst we could argue all day long about pre-92 etc etc, even if you do set that as a benchmark, then i make it that almost everything on here was 92 or before.

I remember that - him rolling around on the floor and stuff. :D
