Oh I don't know - Saved stinks nearly as badly.
There aren't many other crap Dylan albums, though...When He Returns is from Slow Train Coming, isn't it?I like that album, whereas I find Saved just a little bit too preachy!
Er....is it? All the books say Saved is more preachy, but I can't see the difference myself - they're both Armageddon stuff.
Well, it's on my CD of Slow Train, yes.
I suppose there isn't much difference, really, in terms of subject matter! I've not listened to Saved in ages - shouold give it another try, really.

My mum's a big Dylan fan and used to listen to Desire a lot....when I was little I used to love it as I thought it was like stories, you know like those tapes with nursery rhymes on? My favourites were Isis and Joey, I thought they were sad and slightly scary little tales to be listened to alongside my Babes in the Wood tape
Its funny Scumbalina a friend of mine used to compare Dylan songs to Nursery Rhymes. Unfortunately I think he liked Dylan a bit too much for his own good. Used to get very boring when he was drunk and play it to the exclusion of everything. I think people get a bit obsessive about Dylan.
But Dylan has come out with a lot of really good songs.
Another good one that nobody has mentioned is "Meet Me in the Morning" off Blood on the Tracks.

Because of his reputation for being patchy live, I was a bit apprehensive about seeing Dylan in Manchester in 2002. It'd have been such a let-down if he was crap. I knew it was going to be awesome the moment he walked on stage and started playing that song.
He's got such charisma and energy, even now. Apparently the crusty old bugger even spoke after a girl ran onstage and hugged him in Sao Paolo a couple of weeks ago.
