The best anime ever!

what version?

i must say i thought the movie was a bit pants...

the cg was..... well i know what look they were going for but i just don't think it really worked

also the main female isn't as hardcore as she is in the manga.... she feels a lot yonger and more wimpy in the film

also in the manga she gets an eye patch which is just cool

No!

Just watch the cool bits with the sound off (unless you like shit dance music) on youtube - may as well do the same with Casshern too. Looks win but is fail :(

see if you like mononoke

the first two episodes are a compleate story so should give you an idea if you like it

it's a spin off series from an OVA that was fantastic... it's japanese folk tales and ghost stories done as anime with strange art styles

the story in the ova bake neko made me cry

afro samurai was unfortunately crap

some nice animation but the plot and the voice acting sucked

Yes and no. It was a crap series but there was some pretty cool episodes amongst it all. The one with the teddy for example. Plus it is only about 25 minutes so it doesn't take long to download and you can make your mind up pretty quickly.

First episode can be viewed here:

i think the horible voice acting was what really killed it

thinking about studio gonzo and mononoke Gankutsuou uses a simular animation style and the monte cristo story line is kinda cool

their retelling of seven samurai is dead good too

i've now watched all GITS related material, three film and 2 series of SAC.

My life is over :(

Go and read the three mangas and the novels (After the Long Goodbye - prequel to GITS: Innocence - and the SAC trilogy) then :p

(Haven't read all the novels so don't blame me if they don't live up to expectations :p)

By the way, has anyone seen any Ergo Proxy?

Have seen a couple of decent writeups about it but can't be arsed making space to download some until i know it's worth it.

Yup but I was otherwise engaged at the time and um.. can only remember loads of robots getting a nasty bug and going ape shit. Need to watch it again - can't be arsed.

casshern is about as fun as... something very unfun

ninja scroll is... not that good... i'm not sure why it's got such a good reputation

the fight in the bamboo forest was the best bit..

I'd say ninja scroll has aged fairly well actually, having watched it again the other day, considering it's just a straight up simple action anime.

And Casshern was *vaguely* entertaining when completely fucked off your face :D

What about Casshan actually (the anime)? Never got round to watching it.

ninja scroll isn't bad... it's just.... not ... it just feels a little underdone..... i should probably watch it again it's been years since i saw it

and i never watched the casshan anime ... it looks too sentai for my liking
