Coincidentally Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds has just come on the wireless. The older I get the more I agree with Dub about them tbh.

Tens and tens of millions of people, well billions actually, will disagree with you on that one. Please don't do a Dub and just piss all over this thread. You may not like them but an awful lot of people do and they remain one of the most influential and important bands of the 20th C, who are still having an impact on modern music.

'Tomorrow Never Knows' was on the radio the other day. Forgot what a belter that one is. Don't think anyone's ever sounded like that since.

This is pretty much a direct lift of Tomorow Never Knows only, you know, shit.

They had a few goes. The Private Psychedelic Reel was a better stab at it:

That's more 'inspired by' than, 'just plain ripped off' though.

Yeah. Better for it too. There was another one off the album after that was more than a nodding acquaintance of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' too. They used to play the original when they DJ'd. I'm beginning to wonder how much of their career is owed to it.

That's because Lennon can't have let McCartney touch it. Otherwise it'd have been a nursery rhyme.

I know the credits are always 'Lennon/McCartney' but it's often pretty obvious who the driving force was.

it is a common misconception that 'the frog chorus' lasts an hour. it has a duration of only a few minutes but it feels much longer.

I borrowed my friends van today and it had Help lp in the cd player.. I liked the film but apart from help, yesterday and ticket to ride the rest was really really week...they were only about 20 though I guess.

I like about 20% of their tunes, usually the big hits, and the rest leaves me scratching my head...

I do like them in their boy band multicolored psychedelic mode though...
