The Baader Meinhof Complex

No - but there's no such thing as objective analysis. A piece of work setting out the old 'here's what these guys think' and then 'here's what these guys think' leads naturally to the conclusion that the answer lies somewhere in the middle. That's the post-modern chestnut they try to foist on us kids in chokey, under the auspices of neutrality. Reminiscent of the 'Battle of Haditha' sentiment, also (though anachronistically, I know...)

Liberals like to feign neutrality by juxtaposing extremes and leaving open the idea of some 'third way' - The Best of Youth was guilty of, I reckon.

yeah but the Baader Meinhoff complex was made by Stefan Aust . Which means its as objective as the man who insists his former comrades managing to shoot themsleves in the back of the neck in stammheim , and then being rewarded by a job editing Der Speigel , and never going to jail either, is objective and not a fucking rat who told the states version . For lots of money and rewards .
Theres a reason whyy he did so well and prospered and his mates ended up dead or did decades in solitary . And why he successfully cashed in and did so well .
Therein lies the objectivity of the Baader Meinhoff complex. Something he identifies in the film title as simply a mental illness as opposed to a political movement . Self justification for his own fucking treachery .

That's the thing I'm confused about. From your original post (I don't have sound on my computer so can't tell owt from the trailer) it sounded like the film glamourised BM. Then I read the Indy review and it sounded like the film cast them in a negative light, as opposed to earlier films that glamourised BM. Usually with "historical docufilms" they get criticised or praised based on the point of view of the individual. So, you seem to have a negative view of BM so presumably, and the impression I got from your first post, is that a film should not glamourise BM, which seems to contradict the Indy review which seems to say the film doesn't glamourise BM!

Also U75 tends to be quite polarised, hence me asking how the film is "supposed" to view BM, referring to the view of U75ers...

stefan aust made the film for fucks sake.

Try to imagine Searchlight making the definitive film about Red Action . Then multiply that by about 20 .

The thing about the BM was that they didn't seem to worry too much about 'collateral damage' many many innocent people were killed or maimed by them..
