I passed through a couple of months ago and wandered around a bit.I don't know if it's the actual brewery or just a big fuck off warehouse for Adnams on the outside of town that's new.
You can walk anywhere in Southwold and get the little ferry (people and bikes only)to Walberswick which is a nice place.
The nature reserve south of there is great if you want outdoorsy nature stuff.If you go further south Thorpeness is a nice place to have a few pints and watch the widelife on the Mere or checkout the windmill or house in the sky (or freeze your bollocks off on the beach).
They are all a bit twee and a lot of people with serious money reside in the area although actual normal people are friendly enough. (non white people a bit thin on the ground)
