The Ozzies fans want blood and our boys are too wet behind the ears IMO.

You may of just been around Pakistan and India but pissed up Ozzies ripping ten tons of shit out of you is gunna bring em to their knees and as for the psychological advantage, only by a cat's whisp of a hair.

They always want blood off the poms, but last year all they got was piss.

Wet behind the ears?? Like i said, i'll be back in a few days to remind you of all this rubbish you speak of. We have a very talented bunch of players, including three out of the formidable bowling quartet that won us the ashes last year.

And the wickets are faster in oz. Harmison is going to be feared at every turn here (more so than gough was, and they more than respected him), and i think hoggard and flintoff will be just as good as last year. And that means big trouble for the aussies. Who are pretty much all old men these days.

Their time is up, they've been top for too long, we threatened it last year, now we prove it.

It's English time. Our time is here. Bye bye aussies. It's number two for you...

Wow, what powers you afford me!!! So i now understand, you were doing the very english thing and talking down your chances to satisfy the naturally negative feelings we have towards sporting success...

I personally go the other way mate. I said exactly the same thing on this forum before the last ashes series, and we dominated them in that series.

So, fret thyself not mate. We shall prevail. Enjoy it.

Only to an english sense of thinking when it comes to sport. I understand it of course, but i never buy it. I hate talking down my chances, i prefer the aussie style where you talk up your chances.

If ya get egg on yer face, then so be it.

But i didn't last year in the series, and i won't this year. We're playing old men mate...

We thrashed them last year, and we've gone even younger, and they've got even older...

I hope we get to bat first tomorrow. I do easily remember our last few visits where we displayed negative attitudes.

the players have to be really up for it. with a series like this the concentration levels have to incredibly high as each session, each ball counts towards the final result. it'll be very tight and i hope we get off to a good start, as it' been important in the past the result of the first game...
 
I could of told you Harmison is a wet ninny.

The only time he bowls really well is when he acts as if someones just insulted his mother.

Bah, great toss to win and if we'd have batted it'd be a similar scoreline with perhaps a slower RR.

Complete fucking road and no swing. Our bowlers were pretty ordinary save Fred (natch) and Hoggard (natch) though.

I had fucking work to deal with and then i raced to the pub to catch the end of the afternoon sesson. And then the full evening session.

I put in the time, and no rewards of even one wicket for me. I bloody hate that.

What a toss to win though.

I will do the same tomorrow. What will i find when i get to the pub??\

Mate, stop worrying about it all! We shall prevail. Mebbe this test'll be a draw. We need a load of quick wickets in the morning if we're to have a winning chance.

It's only the first day of 25 days, so stop worrying yerself mate!!

fela your optimism is commendable but please wake up to reality. look at the batting line ups. compare each player with their opposite number, particularly 3 and 4. there are certain truths there that cannot be ignored. we're not good enough really.
look how harmison is a shadow of his former self.
flintoff is an inexperienced captain.
we are underprepared.
giles is playing.

apart from the harmison point which is my opinion, the rest are facts that cannot be denied and while a miracle may occur and the results might go against ALL THE OBVIOUS EVIDENCE i think we have to come to terms with the fact that, right now, we are not as good as them.
