The Albert Renovations

What's with the new sign? That munted looking prince albert? Who came up with that!

The place still looks a bit behind schedule, I'd be surprised if it opens on time, I'm hoping though...

noot been in the albert for ages myself, might pop in there sometime soon and see what it now looks like. maybe even have a drink too. Dub can buy me a pint, thanks Dub :)

However I found in London that my friends were not keen into going type of places I wanted to go to and so I'd go on my own, you get to talk to far more people than you would with a group of friends, you can dance and run away from freaks more easily, I've met some lovely friends with similar interests and my boyfriend on nights that I went out without companionship :)

I find exactly the same but sometimes it's pretty scary, you really do need to be in the right mood. All the best times I've had here have started like that though.

Hendo told me last night that it's still orange!!!!!!! I can scarce believe it!

I will have to see this with my own eyes....

There seems to be a brand new coat of orange paint on the outside (along with the munted prince albert!)

there was Pat with long hair  showing off the new look Albert
Classic. :D :D

AK saw Pat yesterday and he was very insistent that the doors would open at 6o'clock.

My guess is that if they are a bit short of time, they'll get the interior sorted and finish off the outside later.

What's all this abut a munted prince albert?

I'll be there as soon as I can to hoist a glass or six to the late, great Mo Mowlam.

Maybe it's the undercoat. The plans were for a brown exterior.

Unless it's some sort of sadistic joke.

Has the Orangina logo gone off the wall by the door yet?

PS

I AM SO EXCITED!!

Mrs M: Access all areas....

I'm really impressed with what I've seen so far!

Pat (head newly shaven and dreamy tresses swept away ;) ) gave me a little tour... The garden is all one level, the colour scheme inside is muted, Old Pat's portrait now looks out onto CHL and her memorial plaque has been reinstated.

The place is full of workmen (they didn't dare get saucy with me, but I'm not as easy on the eye as PieEye). Pat is a little worried about the real ale because it didn't arrive till yesterday, and properly speaking shouldn't be drunk till Sunday, so it won't be as good as it should.

The disabled access is good considering the ramp is a little steep, but the pavement isn't wide enough to make it the ideal gradient. I had a quick look at the disabled loo but the workman-like controlled chaos made closer scrutiny impossible.

Roll on 7pm!

Forgot to mention the exterior. No longer livid orange, more of an apricot sludge. Very weird pub sign, imagine the Prince Consort with Cherubism viewed by someone using peyote. Lettering like a ransom demand, the deck looks good though and is raised, thus giving a psychological advantage to drinkers who may get hassled by CHL ne'er-do-wells.
