This is more of a rant doodle tbf

This afternoon during my volunteer shift, in order to escape the heavy rain, we were tasked with creating some nature-related art to be used as examples for a Nature Journaling workshop to be held at an event on Sunday.

I don't draw often (haven't for years, although I did do a course in archaeological illustration) but I probably should get some practice in, here is one of my efforts (drawn using someone else's photograph as source material) for your enjoyment:

I've been titting about

A drawing of our cat asking to see the manager. Not drawn from a photo, and drawing a cat staring you out is more difficult than I thought it would becuse staring at a cat pisses them off, so you can't do the normal hyperfocus stare

I've been reworking the design of the Raven print, using white paint on the lino to help myself visualise it better... A few shots of the progession of the design (I was really pissed when I did the fisrt one )

I cut the raven print last night and it's fair to say I fucked it up mostly. It's all new to me though so you don't know until you do it and even things that you don't think are great are still awesome to make

Macavity the Mystery Cat...definitely here before.

I had issues with brushes breaking and found myself painting with only one brush...so..they're a little bit clumsy but the act of painting kept me sane this past few weeks.

Started this today. Oil on board.
It's a present for a friend who loves Lord of the Rings and Hobbits etc..

Happy enough with the beginning of it anyway no idea how it will turn out.

I've admired many of your pieces and I hope you continue to post them.

I really liked this one because it seemed to turn the round front door into a round mirror- and from that flows any distortions and reflections. Also like modern day security peek outside holes in front doors. I love it.
