    18 September 2017 – 30 September 2017

This September, the wonderful London African Music Festival returns to London, pushing the boundaries of our expectations of African music. Featuring legendary names like Tony Allen and Pat Thomas as well as emerging artists like Femi and The Inrhythms and Yolanda Eyama and The Afro World Grooves, the festival spans Afrobeat, highlife, jazz, pop and traditional music.

Running for two weeks across some of Lonodn's most exciting venues - including Richmix, Peckham's Bussey Building, and the Vortex Jazz Club - expect a fortnight of energetic and joyful live gigs.

I lent a Fela box set to a colleague who claimed to like funk, only for him to say he thought it was boring.
