Well it would have to be straight apple however there are conditons:

They must be bramleys (and out of my garden til we took the fucker own with a chinsaw last year but it's sprouting again )

There must be cinnamon or apple pie spice in between the apple and the crumble itself.

Naturally it must be home made

It must be served wioth hot home made custard.

Not that I'm fussy.

All crumbles are the pinnacle of puddings. Even the subtle pear and almond crumble. Peach crumble is probably the most humble of them all, but I still wouldn't kick it out of bed for crapping on the pillow.
