As far as I'm aware there is no rule, even an unwritten one, that threads started by or containing posts by posters who have died should not be bumped. If anyone truly thinks there should be a rule of that sort, maybe they should start a thread to discuss that point rather than continuing to argue the toss here.

The only part of the FAQs I can see which Monte might have fallen foul of is this

It certainly wasn't done mischievously . Whether my contributions were meaningful is not for me to say but they were entirely relevant to the discussion.

I think we could cut Monte a bit of slack as a recentish poster. I had a bit of a go at him before because of a misunderstanding of my own. He's made some interesting posts and he clearly didn't intend anything by resurrecting this thread.

Look, if Epona is genuinely upset by seeing threads started by much loved deceased posters then maybe she should consider using the 'ignore thread' function.
That's going to include a lot of good threads though.
Lots of Badger's threads still active for example.
I still think it was more to do with her dislike of me but I have her on ignore now so I won't ever confront/disagree with her again.
Hopefully that'll be an end to it. I'm certainly not going to bear a grudge.

I'm enjoying the bumped thread. A trip back in time and pleased to discover that it was where I made my first comment on U75 more than 20 years ago. All the familiar names of those who have now been banned. Others I'm sorry to see are now RIP.

Some forums close a thread after a period of time with no activity, but I'm always disappointed because I've only found the thread because I'm interested in the topic.
