This thread is making me uncomfortable for a different reason actually.

I sent a PM to electroGIRL ( ) the other night requesting a picture along the theme of an owl, but with a cat, so I said CATOWL, maybe (?), but anyway, I actually Googled first to make sure that 'light sabre' was two separate words and not one...and I judged that to be correct on the number of hits I got for each option ...and then she replied and mentioned 'lightsabre' and I got really fucking confused then ....and now she's here again with her 'collegebus', which reassured me a bit, but then missfran (two words, surely to God?!) said FLIPFLOPS, not FLIP FLOPS, or maybe even FLIP-FLOPS...so now I am in UTTER TURMOIL!

What I want to know is if musical syncopation didn't work - would flip-flops be known as flip-flips or flop-flops?

Perhaps the name change depending one whether you start with your right or left foot.
