But youre forgetting how many times we were close to the top long before Romano took over. Chelseas fortunes were already changing with Ranieri in charge. Hullit did well at Chelsea, as did Hoddle. Since 1997 we have been in the top six every season. So what?, if chelsea were down a few points in the league, he would just go out and splash another 60m on a couple of players until they won the thing?. Don't pretend otherwise.
