Saturday, or Sunday?? :)

we went tonight, watched the procession from the north side, the procession was pretty good, took about an hour to pass us, then watched status quo to some sort of tv show on a boat, and then watched the excellent fireworks

went to this in the end, spur of the moment thing. maestrocloud and i bimbled aobut, checked out ska cubana who were great, drank cheap coladas and bumped into WoW, Stig, Maggot and their mates.

was a good evening out!

roll on the next one!

We went along late tonight to catch Ska Cubano and bumped into William & Stig by chance as soon as we arrived
Shame we couldn't see the band and the fireworks as they were on at the same time at different places.

Ah that was me, Major Tom and Wynette.

*waves to Bluestreak and Maestrocloud* :)

Did I see Mukka? We're they the Romanian fiddle/folky band.

I had to bail out early due to general knackerdness.. However on my way home all my dreams came true as I saw Bruce Forsyth, Gloria Hunniford, Ulrika Johnssen and, err, Jeremy Beadle amongst others..

well Saturday was so crap (save for a good Natty Bo DJ set) that even the lure of seeing Ska Cubano for about the 70th time this summer couldn't drag us out of bed.

Seriously? On my travels I noticed there was something afoot at the London Telivision Centre. Some kind of awards thing maybe? Lots of people with autograph books were crammed up against a barrier but I didn't see you among their number.

Anyway.. Yeah Mukka were a folky tranylvanian band and there was also Tantry on before them who were Polish. Mukka seem to feature belly dancers of some ilk, and played shouty folk songs that got faster and faster to make drunk people trip over their left feet :o

It was part of the ITV 50th birthday thingy. They are doing a 'walk of stars' in Covent Garden and the Quo on the boat with fireworks was part of the live show last night...

was i on the telly then? :D , we were opposite the boat, on the north side, watching the quo mime really badly...

The highlights for me were the Hextatic projecting light onto jets of water thing. The pictures weren't perfect but you could usually work out what was going on and the music was an inspired mix of everything from techno and drum and bass to Nancy Sinatra, Led Zepellin and erm, Cliff Richard. Ska Cubano were brilliant too, if I'd had the energy I would have danced for the whole set and not just the first few songs. Natty Bo appears to have a new co-singer, out goes the guy who can't speak English and does rubbish magic tricks and in comes a lively guy who looks like Sammy Davis Jnr.

Was a shame the Latin bit was so far away from everything else.
