I think it's actually really important frogw! There's zero excuse for what these inhumane army commanders are doing, but they still come from an age where certain people are considered lower than dogs and therefore their lives count for nothing.
To be honest though, i just think that the more developed a nation becomes, the more careful its leaders have to be in their corruption, cruelty, and greed, basically because the people in general won't accept such practices.
Certain thai commanders and politicians don't give a fuck about the lives of the 'wrong' thais, never mind those of other nations.
Since i'm not reading papers any more much, i don't know if this story is getting air in the thai media. Probably not. And if not, then i should think the embarrassment angle won't work.
Indeed. Hard to see any embarrassment when the response, from some quarters at least, is outright denial:
