Maybe, but the stuff I'm thinking of is kept in the chiller cabinets, not the freezers and has minimal packaging - usually just a plastic carton sealed with cellophane. No outer box, though it's usually kept alongide stuff that is more 'traditionally' packaged. And... it seems fresher.
If not made instore, then freshly prepared and delivered daily, maybe.
Or: defrosted, shovelled into a plastic dish and rammed down the undiscerning throats of the cattle who buy it.
Could be huge vats of the stuff delivered then put into the smaller cartons instore.
