Tesco Grocery Delivery

I realise I'm lucky living in Brixton. I work full-time too, but don't have long commuting times, luckily.

I haven't got a clubcard :(

you need to get one, if you register on line and tick the box stating you don't have a clubcard it will issue you with one, if you go to 'my account' you will see your clubcard number etc

if you are planning of doing your shopping on line then also request e-vouchers so that you get your discount codes, also join the wine, healthly living, baby etc clubs, just to get your points

so far this quarter I have got 14000 points (£140 worth of vouchers = £560 off a holiday etc), this quarter ends at the end of July and I am not to my usual points amount this quarter :( but some late points may turn up

cheers for the info about vouchers, I've found one that's working at the moment - £12 off a shop of £80, the code is XXB47M

FFS::mad: I got shopping delivered on Friday that I ordered the night before. Couldn't find any discounts

do you check:

paidtoshop
moneysavingexpert

these two usually have all the codes going, it can be a mare going through the thread on moneysavingexpert but you will usually find something

my local tesco has given me 4 till spilts each with £12 off a £60 shop in the past 3 weeks, I used it today along with my points from the healthly living mag, came out with about £15 off my shopping and nearly 500 points :D

only doing an in-store shop as there are no 1000 pointers about at the mo

Yeah don't buy fresh things like Bread or Fruit, you will always get the stuff from the back of the shelf which has about 5 mins left before it goes off.

Other then that they are punctual and pretty useful.

Not true - if you get something like this complain and get your money back.

My other half picks groceries for Tesco home delivery and also does some van deliveries so I know the score.

Staff are told to look at Best By dates and also to pick as if it's for themselves.

We have ours delivered every week and have no problems. If something is missing ring them up and complain - they will refund without any argument. If you complain about some expensive item every week they might eventually smell a rat and ask you to go somewhere else but that's a very unlikely scenariio.

Also Tesco clubcard points can be saved and redeemed at 4x their face value on a variety of holidays etc (gonna go youth hostelling with mine, for a quarter of the usual price! :D ).

Yeah, using our vouchers to go on the Chunnel this year - £40 of credit for every £10 of vouchers !

Same offer for entry to Alton Towers and lots of other places.

Google 'Tesco clubcard deals' to find out more

I know. My friend used to be a delivery driver for Asda (dole made him get the job). He left as it was crippling him with twats ordering water cooler sized jugs of water and huge sacks of cat litter etc.

That's not twattish, though, ordering heavy stuff - that's one of the reasons people get delivery in the first place.

I would tip if the delivery were difficult, and I also did try to tip once (only a couple of steps to my place, but he'd put in some sort of special effort - don't remember what now, but it deserved a tip, anyway) and was also told it wasn't allowed. Shame, really.

If only Lidl did deliveries.

And I also bought a new washing machine on Tesco Direct, I used a price checker and it was the cheapest of the retailers for that model. And it was on triple clubcard points and free delivery. So if that gets delivered OK I'm going to be really pleased and not a little relieved.

I got mine from Tesco direct as well - it was about £25 cheaper than the same model in Argos.

I think I may have to reorder it, I got two confusing emails (one to say it was being processed, the other to say that they had to cancel it) but when I rang up they said my order had been accepted ... it's due for delivery today but I've a feeling it's not going to turn up.

Ordering bottles of water for water coolers is twattish. It's not necessary. Anything else is understandable

I did and I couldn't see any vouchers. They were all for over £70 or £80. I only bought about £50 worth of stuff

I tend to keep watching the hotukdeals site. You can set up email alerts for specific retailers or vouchers to save you hassle.

My monthly order is about £60-£80 for two of us depending on what we need. I wait for a suitable voucher to appear and then grab it. If my shop is £60 and the only voucher is something like £12 of an £80 shop then I up my order to include things that I know we will use, or treat myself to some beer and wine. That way I get £80 worth of stuff for £68 :)

I did pick "no substitutions" with the fresh stuff but not with stuff like cleaning and tinned stuff.

I'm sure I picked tins of kidney beans but obviously not, as I ended up with the ones you have to soak overnight :D

Yeah they've done that to me before. Doesn't seem to matter that I always tick no subs. They sent onion ring crisps instead of frozen onion rings once. If you book a week or so in advance, the delivery's a couple of quid cheaper.

Oh and they had their van nicked from round here once, which is a bit shit.

I've just opened up the bag of 5 apples I bought and they've all got this weird scoring. Don't like the look of them at all.

Ring Tesco (home Delivery number on website) and explain the problem - they WILL refund your money - I'll be amazed if they don't. Had some grapes once that had a few in the pack that were a bit wrinkled and the date was short. If they'd have knocked 50% off the price I'd have been happy but they refunded the money.

What did they get out of ten?

What would you give them. It's not a mouth that's been at these, so I'm guessing maybe a bit of machinery  Whatever it is, it does not make me want to eat them :D
