IMHO Wogan will be utterly irreplacable for radio 2 when he finally retires.

Lord save us from Ross or Evans in the morning!!!

Give it to Baker!

(as long as he promises to do new stuff)

I think it's the way he speaks, his voice doesn't have the normal tone that most of us has, you can't tell whether he's finished a sentence or not. It just goes from really loud to really quiet from one word to the next.

I know what you mean about the gibberish he speaks too..unfortunately it's a choice between him and the nobber Moyles.
Luckily I'm rarely up early enough to catch either of them.

Both scabs.

I still mourn the passing of Chris Tarrant from breakfast radio. No one has ever held a candle to him.

Wogan rules on the Eurovision though. I love his pisstaking of the whole thing.
I've met Tarrant a number of times and I consider him a bit of a tit..... quite likely it's mutual.

While I fully understand why he gets on people's tits, I have to admit I love him. I'm not very good in the mornings, and getting to work as I do at half seven, the first thing I do is tune in to the togmeister and his calming effect. I like all the piss taking of EastEnders, Midsommer Murders etc. and best of all the Janet & John stories, some of which are extremely risque for the mornings.

I also like Fran Godfrey's sexy voice. (Terry: "Slow news day, today then...?")

You can't deny that he wasn't brilliant on the Breakfast Show though.

Isn't that a double negative? But no, you are right, he is a good radio personality. Not so sure about his excruciatingly boring performances on "Millionaire" though. Is this going to develop into a Tarrant tangent? Perhaps we should go back to Terry who I think no-one could dislike.

Ancient Terry Wogan thread BUMPED

On the grounds that Tezza announced his own imminent retirement from R2 live on his show last Monday morning (7th Sept).

And no current thread about this apparantly

So, what do people think?

Will Mr Christopher Evans Esq., Terry Wogan's planned replacement, irritate listeners more or less than Terry, breakfast time on R2?

Yer thoughts please, whether or not you ever go near Radio 2 .... :hmm:

Wogan's great, thanks for bumping its given me the opportunity to add the nasty op to my ignore list ;) ... it was a sad morning he announced his departure, I love that he really seems to love doing the show... however his voice is sounding old and he takes more holiday time than he's there for so its not really a surprise.

with Evans I'm not sure, he can be good but Wogan's a hard one to replace, I'll listen and give him a chance... but I like Danny Baker so I'll probably listen to his show more.
