Terence Mckenna - anyone heard of him?

Does it? Oh, well thats that theory out of the fucking water then eh :)

What the hell is zeitgeist on about then? Is it misled, disillusioned or just full of shit? :)

Just conspiraloon stuff really isn't it? A few truths, half truths and a ton of fear mongering all wrapped up with some godawful music and hypnotic graphics. They could have made it 7 mins long.
Though I'll go along with some of the economic 'theories' as I'm reading Shock Doctrine (which almost reads as a conspiracy theory book, but I fear it's mostly documented).

Ah, fair enough. Its not that though - have you seen Zeitgeist yet? Thats a much more likely scenario, the next chapter of an age (an age being a historic measurement of time - moving from the age of pisces into aquarius) :)

is zeitgeist a film? (no i havene seen it but with a name like that i want to )

we wont know what it is (if it's anything) until it comes

but i've placed my bets on it being literally the end of time

he is long dead! (in the bodily sense anyway)

the scientific model of the history of the universe clearly shows that time is exponentially accelerating, 2012 is the culmination of that acceleration (i cant remember the mathmatical term, but the point where time converges towards, without ever quite reaching, just getting infinitely closer and closer)

Aren't we lucky to be living in such momentous times.

Can we move this faux-schizophrenic-drivel to the astrology forum please?
Quite.

If anyone past the age of 14 actually finds this mixture of Timothy Leary and Erich Von Danniken anything other than the brainless sludge it is, they are welcome to a forum of their own. Perhaps it can be called Jonothan Livingstone Seagull County, and they can discuss all the fact-free pseudoscience and New Age witterings their little hearts desire.

That Hawaiin place is where that spurious lawsuit against CERN was started from to stop the LHC being switched on by attempting to sue Fermilab for providing them with equipment, on the basis that there were 'no guarantees' that the earth won't be swalled by strangelets or other bits of exotic matter...

See I've no problem with psuedoscientific rubbish, but when it starts trying to interfere with proper science:mad:

It's not just that, but the lack of vision it displays - who's to say that if the world were devoured by a strangelet that our conciousnesses wouldn't be transformed and imprinted on the local quantum fabric, elevating us to post-human without the need to faff around with downloading ourselves into computers and whatnot...

Quite why people feel the need to go inventing bullshit when actual science is astounding enough is beyond me......

leave it to the science fictionists pls. They do it better anyway

Nah that was Walter L. Wagner who still runs his own website all about it, the loon: http://www.lhcdefense.org/index.php

I'll take that bet

He won't actually go through with it. We've tried that one. The reason he won't take your bet is because he's a pretensious poser who doesn't even have the balls to actually believe the bollocks he has infested this forum with.

"orient yourself towards the psychedic experience, towards the psychedelic phenomenon, as a source of information. A mirror image of the psychedelic experience in hardware are computer networks. Computer networks, paradoxically enough, are a deeply feminizing influence on society, where, in hardware, the unconscious is actually being created. It's as though we took the Platonic bon mot about how "if God did not exist, Man would invent him", and say "if the uncounscious does not exist, humanity will invent it"– in the form of these vast networks able to transfer and transform information. This is in fact what we are caught up in, is a transforming of information. We have not physically changed in the last 40,000 years; the human type was established at the end of the last glaciation. But change, which was previously operable in the biological realm, is now operable in the realm of culture."
