Temp Rates?

TBH I give that last piece of advice whenever you leave a company, esp if you're getting another job in the same business sector.

it's good advice, k_s.

the warm glow of "Fuck you, your shitty client, your shitty job and your shitty rates... :D...." can turn to "Oh, shite!" a few weeks, months and even years later, esp if one needs security clearance or credit vetting for a govt or City type role where they go back 5 - 10 years for references etc,.

Dale Carnegie - if you've nothing nice to say, say nothing (along those lines, kind of)

How about if my payments need to be backdated? I'm about 4 months overdue - will they spread what I owe over the rest of the year, if I'm paying monthly?

Also - if I don't have direct debit facility - can I pay in a Post Office?

You're four months overdue and the council hasnt taken you to court? what borough do u live in?

Lambeth send the final warning if im a week over, then a court summons after two.

They don't know who I am yet. This is me 'registering' to pay from Year Zero, as it were.

No they aren't, whatshername kept it out of this year's parliamentary calendar - it was supposed to happen but didn't.

Khyser

Just received letter from my agency which states:

"As some of you may already be aware, from 1 October 2007 there are some legal changes that will impact on some or all of you.

The first is re: new minimum wage rates blah blah blah...

Annual holiday entitlement for temporary workers is currently 20 days including bank holidays and will rise on 1 October to 24 days including bank holidays for full time workers. As your holiday year runs from April each year, this will mean that annual entitlement for the remaining 6 months of this leave year will increase by 2 days."

In a temp job I had, I used to get less than another temp doing exactly the same job but with a different agency - that sucked :( I think I only got £5.50 an hour at the time and he was on £6.50 - world of difference at that kind of pittance!

I have that here, but what I was posting about was for Kyser's attention re: Bank Holiday pay. He's not responded yet though

I wasn't actually responding directly to your comment - I didn't even read most of the thread tbh :o

Sorry, been busy annoying people elsewhere :D

That's fricking excellent news! Will be nice to be able to actually use my accrued holiday for actual private vacations as opposed to public bank holidays...
