Tell me what to wear

Missfran, if you're going to Westfield then go to House of Fraser, they should have a free personal shopper. Otherwise, if you're in a department store, let the shop assistants help you, they will give good advice as they do it all day and it's in their interests to make you look fab. In HOF I would pay special attention to the concessions Fenn Wright Manson and Phase Eight, they both go up to a (generous) size 18 and do lots of lovely jersey wrap tops/dresses, flattering jumpers and T-shirts etc. Their sales assistants are pretty sure to be very well trained and helpful, they should also have an alterations service they can offer you.

Tomorrow is also a good day to go shopping, lots of promotions around this weekend. :)

bootcuts are flattering for girls with curvy legs.

tapered / pegged trousers shouldn't be attempted by anyone with short legs, imo.

missfran - empire lines can be hit and miss, but make sure you have a hoisting bra and keep trying. the most flattering dress length for you is likely to be around the knee.

the jumper in the picture has far too high a neck, and surely if it's for men, it must be really really long in the body and sleeve?

OKAY. I spent four hours shopping in Westfield today. I tried wide leg trousers, and I'm afraid it's a no. It just doesn't suit me. Bootcuts are still a yes.

I was gratified to find I am now a size 16 :)

The following are the ones that i liked the most. I have not yet bought anything.

And matching purple heals. I really liked this outfit.

I also liked this dress. It's extremely boobalicious. The shop assistant said it gave me a 50's-style figure. The hem-line is below the knee for me, despite this being a petite dress.

I tried on this one, as recommended, and it was nice but not quite right.

Wrap tops are most definitely the way forward, but I couldn't find any casual wrap tops anywhere! I tried H & M, Debenhams, Wallis, M & S, Evans, and others.

So, what do you think?

I too have read about bootcuts flattering the shorter/curvier figure. Balancing it out. And I too prefer my jeans to be longer, because it seems to elongate the leg, especially when wearing heels. I'm prepared to be wrong though.

Not wrong - me exactly. And you looked a complete knockout in that wedding dress!

I really like the Wallis ditsy print dress missfran.

I should have said that before. I got distracted by 5t3IIa and her 'shoots'. Sorry :o

Debenhams fucked the appointment up and the personal shopper wasn't there  But they were very apologetic, gave me free chocolates and offered me a discount next time I go.

I bought the black and white dress (pictured above) from Monsoon, with a cream bolero. It looks pretty. Alex B, who normally just nods and says "Yes. Nice." when I show him new clothes said "Oh! You look lovely!" :)

It's obviously a stunner then!

I'd have been proper pissed off at that - but I guess the discount might help. Have you re-booked the personal shopper?

Not rebooked yet. I've got the name of theperson who offered me the discount though. I'm not sure I can face clothes shopping again for a couple of weeks :o
