Tell me what to wear

I'm comfortable showing off cleavage :D

I guess I'l be trying straight-leg jeans tomorrow then too. I'm afraid pumps are not for me though, I do draw the line there. I've tried them and I really don't like them.

I feel like I must look stupid now.

If you're chunky in the thigh bootcut jeans are by far the most forgiving without a doubt. There's nothing wrong with that outfit, but I think spangles needs to girly you up! A wrap top would have looked ace instead of the jumper.

They don't :( They are trouser for taller people with no real bums and not for the likes of us. This is gospel.

Flat pumps but ones with firm soles and a little heel, like a cm. Fashionable and you can run for a bus in them and wear them with socks, whatever is comfy :)

What happened to wear what you like and fuck 'em if they don't like it? :)

That's what I thought about bootcuts! But now I am confused.

I don't mind going out then in then out again, I like being curvy. But I don't want to look stupid.

I do need girly-ing up. Wrap tops. I have tried them in the past but can't remember why I didn't like them. I will try again.

non... straight leg jeans/troos would make a lady with ample arse and thighs look like an inverted wine bottle.
if said lady had a really nice arse and legs it would be fine, but most people don't.

that said i saw a very ample woman wearing skinny jeans at the bus stop last night and she looked really damn good. it's all in the curves though, they've got to be in the right places!

That was me silly

Wrap tops missfran: do they open up over the boobage? That sometimes happens.

Straight leg, not skinny fit mind.
Well they do me :p

Guess I just prefer wide cut and bootleg... will have to ask someone sometime if they look shit on me :D

I believe wearing jeans cut in the basic shape of my legs (straight) is more flattering than those with a flare or baggy or whatever, you know? I find it works for me. I'm not trying to disguise anything that way, no artifice.

I think it was more that where the wrap is supposed to cross, it doesn't really cross in the right way because the distance from my shoulders to my boobs is shorter than most peoples. If that makes sense. Like when an empire line is supposed to end up under your boobs, it either ends up only halfway down my boobs because they're too big, or too low because if it fits over the boobs the line is halfway down my stomach.

Can't be arsed reading the thread, sorry, but has anyone mentioned a bin bag yet? Cos you'd look good in anything ;) *smarm offensive*

My legs aren't straight :D

I'm not trying to disguise anything either or change my shape, stopped doing that when I stopped wearing oversized baggy jumpers. I just prefer a bootcut for jeans and wide leg trousers for work wear. If it's a serious fashion faux pas no-one's told me yet :hmm: Straight leg jeans/trousers always seem a bit tapered when I try them on.

Tapered trousers can be surprisingly flattering. I hate my thighs too but I've just bought a couple of pairs of "peg" trousers (pleated at the waist, tapered leg) and they look good. Well I think they look good - others may beg to differ. :D

I agree that straight legged jeans are the way to go. Although I have a pair of skinny flares (fitted to the knee, then bootcut), which are also pretty good. I think skinnies are the hardest to wear, and they're also very skimpily cut. I could only just about squeeze into a size 14 in Uniqlo the other day in their cropped bright skinny jeans (really wanted the electric blue ones) and would probably have had to go for a 16. I am usually a size 12!

I reckon the height you've got means that straight and tapered would look good on you - they just look funny on me :D

Bootcut jeans are good if you're short though, b'cos you can wear heels or wedges or whatever, and the flarery bit of the jeans covers them up so you look taller. I think they're far more flattering than skinny or straight jeans.

Lol and then the trousers touch the ground and you actually look like an elephant? :D

This is actually making me quite angry

I told you! You see why I have trouble finding anything to fit?

To be fair, I am corsetted to the nines there.

Me too  I LIKE my trousers to touch the ground and HATE trousers that are too short. I've read about 5 million things about how it's flattering to wear bootcut jeans that skim the ground when you're short. Are they all wrong

I too have read about bootcuts flattering the shorter/curvier figure. Balancing it out. And I too prefer my jeans to be longer, because it seems to elongate the leg, especially when wearing heels. I'm prepared to be wrong though.
