Tell me what to wear

Apparently Monsoon have a petite range. This dress would be gorgeous for weddings:

That is seriously gorgeous

That is a lovely dress. It wouldn't suit me at all though, unfortunately. Highlighting the tummy with a bow and then being flat accross the bottom of the tummy would reveal extreme wobbliness in that area and the hip area.

I feel like you keep putting up suggestions and I keep disregarding them :o I don't mean it that way, it's just my experience in trying to find something that looks good on me.

I really do need someone to come shopping with me and make me try on stuff I would otherwise disregard though.

Control pants?

Yes you do.

I tried on a jumpsuit yesterday thinking it would look dreadful but what the hell. It looked great! Better than some of the things I thought would definitely suit me.

Defo control pants. Like Spanx. They stop the wobbly bits wobbling! Don't exactly make you thinner but it feels 100% better and smooths the lines.

This is* advice: look into control pance

The trouble with that sort of material is that it does show every bit of bump/lump... Control pants/bodies are FTW!

I do have a pair of control pants (wore them for my wedding :D ) and I agree - they are great. I will get some more.

Tell you what, I'll go to Westfield tomorrow, wearing my control pants, and I hereby vow to try on stuff that I might usually disregard. Including that green dress if they have it.

And maybe, if it's free, I'll ask for a personal shopper :o

I have started a blog for you, missfran - but in the meantime -

Deep V necks

babydoll-shaped dresses (should fit you like a regular empire line)

oh and get thee some wrap dresses and a sewing machine to take them up.

They are mostly very straight atr the bottom and therefore easy to take up.

nothing at all high necked. absolutely no t shirts, ever.

really busy today (no lunch!) but hopefully msT or someone can explain if any of that sounds odd.

Thanks Spangles. I do wear v-necks, I like them.

Re: dresses, what length should I be going for?

I like my t-shirts :(

I like my t-shirts :(

t-shirts aren't very flattering though especially with a large bust. You're better of with tops that make the best of your boobs rather than covering them up with boring old tees.
That will also detract from any other problem areas like your tummy because everyone will be drawn to your amazing tits.

But my t-shirts have monkeys and hamsters on them :(

One of the problems I often have with v-necks s that while they flatter the boobs, they can cling at the waist/hips and sometimes ride up. Perhaps I'm just wearing the wrong size?

I'm rubbish at clothes :(

I personally never ever wear bootcut trousers cuz they go OUT around my hips then in around my knees then OUT at my feet and look ridiculous. They are absolutely nothing like the shape I actually am, and in fact acentuate 'problem' areas (hips/bum and lack of physical stature).

You could have a pratically idenitcal outfit in terms of comfort but 100x more 'fashionable' by wearing straight cut jeans, flat pumps and a tailored top in a plain colour with perhaps a little cardy over the top.

Oh. I thought the bootcut jeans looked nice. :(

Flat pumps? As in ballet pumps?

They don't :( They are trouser for taller people with no real bums and not for the likes of us. This is gospel.

Flat pumps but ones with firm soles and a little heel, like a cm. Fashionable and you can run for a bus in them and wear them with socks, whatever is comfy :)

I think the bootcut jeans would be nice, strait leg dont usually look good on not so slim legs (I know i cant wear them .. im a lot taller than you, but also an 18)

The jumper would have been fine if the V was deeper cut ... make the V as deep as possible & wear a vest top underneath if your not comfy showing off so much clevage ..
