When I lived in Germany I used to always go and watch the Wholesome Fish, from Nottingham, whenever they were touring. They were fantastic, great for dancing. Maybe you could drop them a line, though it would have to be sometime when they were already playing in London.

I saw him at What's Cookin' in Leytonstone not so long ago and he was a grumpy sod, demanding perfect quiet before he would play.

However, he was brilliant and he was playing for free unless you count the hat being passed round at the end of the night.
