Tell me about West Dulwich

When I lived there that bakery was really average, glad they've sorted themselves out, always felt they were missing a trick.

Book shop is great. Must confess when had our lad we stocked up on stuff from a local Cook for the first week or two after coming home from hospital. Not bad stuff but it is dear.

all those shops are very expensive indeed - I very very occasionally get a vegetarian sausage roll from the bakers (like once a year) and it's outrageously expensive (but tasty). The bookshop has events there which are often free though. There used to be a Threshers there that my mates lived above - 15 years ago now but I think it's an estate agents now. I've never been to it but there's a majestic wine warehouse on Alleyn Park just past the end of the back passage (fnar) from the train station. Rosendale Road has a toy shop (also expensive but handy for last minute emergencies) and a beautician type place run by someone I used to go to school with (I believe)!

I like Scotch Meats and have heard that the Italian on Croxted Rd is good. That is the sum total of my knowledge I'm afraid.

Settling in well. Haven't really been to Gypsy Hill much. I tend to go the other way to West Dulwich shops as it's on my way to and back from work.

If you think you might go to Cafe Rouge by the way, it's worth signing up to their mailing list because they have lots of offers, 2 for 1 on brunch etc.

That was years ago. Not sure it's still on. I remember going there pregnant with lots of my friends who were off their faces drinking scrumpy etc. That was a hard day!!

i had a similar experience at not one but TWO Lambeth country shows watching people enjoy their chucklehead...

Spent a pleasant hour at the Love West Dulwich Spring Fair today:

Scotch Meats on Rosendale Road have expanded into the shop next door and are now double the size, with more deli products, a great looking cheese counter, and a bakery/sandwich/coffee section for lunchtime punters. Fucking expensive though.
