funny you i should read this today, i ahve jsut put an ad in the newsagents windwo for exactly the same thing, how do you guys promote yourself?

When I did it, a while ago (just evening stuff to supplement the day job), i advertised in the local papers. Wasn't worth it though - got very few calls from that and it was quite expensive.
For various reasons I'm having another go - this time I'm doing cards in newsagents (I just put them in today.... a bit spooky really... perhaps the internet's become sentient, realised it's in danger, and has been putting subliminal images on websites urging techies to go and fix home pcs.....). Don't know how effective that'll be - but it's cheap. If I get 5 hours work a week out of it I'll be reasonably happy.

I worked in ICT Support for the Protective Services, Emergency Planning Dept' which also housed 999 desk for the fire service.

It fucking sucked like all big buercratic organisations do.

Now i`m poor but happy in my work
