just awful. there's a lot of questions to be answered about whether his doctor should have allowed him to return to work, whether he was under pressure from the school to return - but at the end of the day, as a teacher you have to have responsibility for knowing yourself.
van der graff generator
when i google that i just get details for some (presumably shit) prog rock group.
Is that the electricity thing?
That's Coventry.
It's almost as far north as Carlisle in the North/South divide thing.
Watford, just outside Zone 6, is the limit of "The South".

Some papers are saying he was back at work since a stress related stroke. As strokes can do weird things to your brain I kind of feel sorry for the teacher too.
This is being blown out of proportion. How else do you demonstrate Newton's laws of motion?

I'm looking forward to the huge payout to the girl with plenty of red-top coverage of her looking miserable.
Yeah, the thing that makes your hair stand on end.

Jack is said to have then intervened and sworn at Harvey, who is then alleged to have taken the weight from a set of scales and flung it, hitting the boy in the forehead.
Jack is said to have fallen to the ground and the teacher to have stood over his pupil, before picking up the weight and striking him with it.
As Jack lay with blood pouring from his wounds, a boy and girl - both also 14 - reportedly dragged Harvey from his victim and restrained him.
This idiot appears to have hit the lad twice with the metal weight.
If so, then clearly he wanted to do some serious damage to the boy. So, rather than being someone who 'lost it', he appears instead to be a violent coward who knew what he was doing.
or someone who just flipped out...
I just don't go along with that bollocks of an excuse.
the teacher was clearly wrong
he should have slowly plotted his revenge and then at a suitable moment wheeled out a specially adapted van der graff generator
That's how I get my revenge. The longer the chain of students the bigger the shock. Hours of fun.

Nah, I reckon he lost it.
If someone 'loses it' they don't first seriously injure a child by throwing a weight and then go over pick the weight up and further batter the child over the head with it, whilst the child was prone on the ground. Neither would he have needed to be restrained in doing further harm to the child by two other pupils.
If they had 'lost it' then they would have been brought back to the reality of their actions pretty sharpish on the first count.
Why is it when someone ordinarily do this sort of thing to a child, they are referred to as scum and when a middle class teacher does it the responses are; they just 'lost it' or weasal words along the lines of; 'it's because of the amount of stress teachers are under'? Absolute bollocks
