Teacher Banned for Life from Classroom. Excessive?

I really hope this guy is just a troll and doesn't actually believe this shit.

Either way there seems to be nothing we can do to get the message across here, so I'm off.

He's sexually harassed vulnerable children in his care. That's a do-not-pass-go, never allowed to work with kids again offence and there are very good reasons why that is the case.

Yeah, if you look at the details I don't think many parents would feel very good about him teaching at their school.

Screaming 'nonce' at the OP for another few hours is sure to fix this misconception.

There are many posts (paedo freedom posts) like this of yours. It's relentless.

Shit, i forgot, i'm not a worthwhile part of the dialogue. I want to burn someone alive. That leaves the floor to you and kesher 8ball.

There are many reasons why you are not a worthwhile part of the dialogue. Maybe a strong coffee would help.

The idea that people you disagree with on here want to burn you alive is as fanciful as calling you a determined paedo-enabler. You think one of these approaches is fine and dandy.

The dude does keep posting noncey threads tbf. It isn't an unreasonable conclusion to come to.

He keeps posting threads defending 'peripheral' paedophile behaviour, seemingly in an attempt to rationalise or justify this behaviour. Sort of like how a neo-Nazi might start out talking about immigration levels or Israeli foreign policy rather than jumping straight to racial purity and eugenics.

I think you need to read back a bit. Really.

OP could be anything from not-thought-through-hasn't-read-the-details to someone with very iffy attitudes about child protection (to say the least). Shouting 'nonce' at them will make them go away, I'm sure, if it doesn't lead to a verbal retaliation that can be used to justify a ban.

I'm finding the whole group bonding thing a little tired, though.

Both girls were adults at the time; consented to it; were not students of his at the time and were probably already having sex. He may have been a good teacher; but now that's been removed from him, permanently. Some would argue that's extremely harsh.

If you read that article I don't think it's the sex with adults that lead to his being barred, it was his attempts to seduce 17 year old former students and their friends. The fact he had successfully seduced a former student and her friend was just supporting evidence.

I don't need to read anything from the op to see you suggesting others want to burn people.

And hence their motivation for posting.

In perceiving this action as 'extremely harsh', I think you're find you're in a very, very small minority.

As an active unionist/rep. at the time when the professional standards were imposed I had (and have) grave reservations about a code of conduct that imposes restrictions upon the personal conduct of teachers outside of the school environment; it always appeared to offer employers far too much latitude to persecute 'troublesome' colleagues unwilling to conform to conservative norms.

That said, any teacher engaging in a sexual relationship with a pupil/former pupil is exploiting a very asymmetrical power relationship; expressed very well (above) by Campanula.

This individual showed very clearly that he was prepared to use his position of trust to fulfil his sexual desires, and the action taken is entirely appropriate.

Exactly. If it was just issues surrounding teachers then it could be a teacher worried about the change in policies but given that they've come at this one from several different angles then they seem solely concerned with defending paedophiles.

The motivation for disagreeing is obvious. The motivation for calling nonce from the second post is the usual Urban pant-hooting.
Fortunately there are some reasoned voices too.

Can you explain the OP's predilection for defending paedophile behaviour?
