I reckon he's more of a nasal learner. Are there any 'snort your way to fluent Italian' courses on the market?
it's not only a gap in the market - it's a gap in the entire fundament of teaching theory

Learn fluent Italian in just one month. It seems like a short time, but one month can be pretty long without sleep.

from personal experience,I find that beer and more beer (or italian vino) is excellent to breakdown the grammatical barrier when meeting a potentially shagging foreigner in his own language.

EastEnder - it does indeed depend if you are a visual, auditory or kinasthetic learner.

Also - do you already speak French / Spanish / Latin?

How easy did you find languages at school?
I was a dab hand at English. ;)

Pretty crap at every other language.

My preferred learning route would be via books, but that doesn't teach you how stuff is supposed to sound.

Thing is - Metaponto is a tiny little place, in one of the most out of the way, rural bits of Italy. Unlike most European tourist traps, it's full of natives who really don't speak a word of English.

So it would be cool to be able to do more than point at stuff and shout slowly in English.....

Took me 15 minutes to ask for a box of plasters in a shop in Metaponto.....

Despite them not speaking a word of English, and us not speaking a word of Italian, me & Kameron had a fascinating evening on the beach with a few of the locals - educating them in the finer points of horse tranquillisers.....

And they kept coming back for more......;)
