Taxi to Heathrow

Sorry for such a dull question but could someone please reccomend a reliable, safe taxi service from Brixton Hill to Heathrow?
I've got an early flight and it's too early for the tube. How much should I expect to pay? Thanks for any help.

this is the number that I use when I'm in brixton - 020 7733 3333 (I think it's pages transport) and they've always been good.

dunno about price to the airport, I only go as far as dulwich :D

Perhaps a bit out of your way, but living in Forest Hill I use Forest Hill Cars (020 8291 1111) on a regular basis to get to the airports. £40 to Gatwick, £45 to Heathrow.
Reliable.
If they're slack for work, they'd be daft not to pick you up in Brixton.
Hope that helps.

Let me know if they can't deliver or let you down.
'Always on the lookout for alternative safety nets.
I know how it is when the cab's late and you've a plane to catch.

Cab to Heathrow

I live on Brixton Hill and always use Safe Cars 020 8678 75 75. Pretty reliable and about £30-£35 to Heathrow. Hope this helps :)

They are on 0207 733 4112

I'm using them tomorrow at early o'clock to get to Gatwick-if I'm posting here tomorrow morning then you'll know they're not reliable ;)

Try Addison Lee, it's who I always use. Comfortable car, they all have sat nav so no fucking idiot driver getting you lost and they text you to tell you your car is outside!

I used to work for a company that had AL on account. I lost count of the times that they didn't show/were unnecessarily arsey!...:( They didn't have sat nav at the time, so it was always a constant argument about the quickest way home.

I've been using them for work for the last two years not once had a problem. Always an excellent service with polite drivers ime...

Ah well, it was 2000-2002 that I was using them, so they've obviously cleaned up their act if your experience is anything to go by. :)

That would make sense. I used to go out with someone whose father was a driver for them around that time and he was a complete cunt but even he used to bitch about others drivers being crap...dunno what they earn now but Addy Lee drivers used to pull in alot of fucking money, he'd make around £1200 a week on a good week sometimes as much as £1600!

(thanks to the lead to this link nipsla!)

I need to be at Gatwick for 5am next monday...I've tried addison lee, but they want £60 for the journey from Tulse Hill. Will try some of the numbers on this thread.

How long does the journey take btw?

At that time of the morning with a decent (ie law breaking) driver probably around 45 minutes.

Ace! Just trying to work out just how stupidly early I'll have to get up next week.

I *was* thinking of getting the 4.30 am Gatwick Express, but that take 30mins, and cost £14, and would prolly have to spend a tenner on top of that for a cab to victoria, so really, it's much of a muchness, eh?

*e2a* Reliable Taxis want just £38 for a run to Gatwick. Bargain!

I've just booked a taxi to go to heathrow at 4am on Friday for my mom. I used Reliable Taxis n they quoted me 36 quid.

Reliable were ded good when I had to use them to get to the airport early, and they've been ded good on all the other occasions.

Thanks for the heads up!

I hear they're starting to give out 020 3 numbers?

I've just 5 minutes ago discovered this 020 3 number. Got a hospital appointment at King's and immediately thought the 020 3 was a typo, so typed in 020 8 :o

When did this all happen then?

Isn't that still an 020 number? who cares what the next eight are.

Yes, but generally the numbers that started with 7 were central London and ones starting with 8 were Greater London - not that it really worked that way anyway

Well it did work ok because making 020 the code freed up a load more numbers, for instance 3. Sadly most people dial the full number including the code thinking the code is 0207 or 0208 so everything not only goes though the main exchange, it confuses people about the intorduction of new numbers (such as 3).

that's strowger-era thinking.

don't think it makes a blind bit of difference to the routing with digital exchanges.

Besides we often dial from a mobile. All the London numbers in my mobile start +4420 so they work wherever I happen to be.
