I'm fascinated with these 3 intertwined Ozzy bands out of Perth. How much do people know about them, seen them live, and if not, take this as a big recommend.
In order of popularity, as most will probably already know Tame Impala. I say they, but Kevin Parker writes all the songs and actually records all instruments. The others are just touring players. Not to underplay it, they sing here and there, contribute a little I'm sure. But ultimately Kevin Parker is an absolute maverick.
They chucked out Nick Allbrook years ago, think he became to unreliable and on some whacky drugs. But he, Nick Allbrook, has always had a band Pond. They've some epic tunes, recent new album tune Edge of the World part 3, which parts 1 and 2 were on previous albums.
Then GUM, still plays in Tame Impala, plays for Pond. Plus has his own band largely it's him, called GUM. The latter 2 acts are almost overtaking Tame Impala for me. Heavily underrated bands that I'd love to see live.
