Talk to me about foundation

This is actually a semi serious question, but what time do you lot have to get up in the mornings to put all this on?

Takes me about 5mins to 'put my face on' in the mornings !

I'm not plastered in slap by the way :o

:)

and sometimes i don't bother with any, eg like at the weekends

Takes me about 10 mins to shovel me slap on, 10 mins for the hair

I use Benefit stuff. They have liquid foundation which I find is light and easy to apply and they also do a 'pan stick' which is foundation and powder in one and I use that sometimes (not often) when I feel I need more coverage.
I sometimes use(not got any at mo cos it's expensive) Dr. Feelgood as a base sometimes. Ohmyyyy it's like silk on the skin but as I said...flippin expensive and tbh I don't like putting lots of stuff on...so....

I have now :o

So, is that in place of moisturiser? Or on top?

I think it's a bit much actually - my pores would rebel

On top. It stops my skin going shiny, shiny, boots of leather. The no. 7 one is non-comede-whatever that word is that means it doesn't block yr pores.

It normally takes me 5-10 mins to do my face. The foal is having settling-in sessions at the nursery at the mo and I'm practising getting ready for work too :D

I know if I don't wear make up, people will think I'm ill :o

I reckon just using a good foundation you wouldn't need that shit

Aww, and how is your son these days? heh, people always think I'm ill if I don't have me slap on too - only work people though, everyone else sees me as I am

Right, so I need to get a base - and some L'Oreal Perfect Match. How much do these things cost? I don't normally spend more than £5 on any make up items. :D

Although I am only intending to put it on if I am going out at weekends or in the evening, not every day, so I guess it will last a while.

Eek - £9 for a base! Can I get away without one?

I'm quite tanned at the moment and my skin is quite good so I wear a tinted moisturiser (Benefit or Boots No 7, although next time I'm going to splash out on Laura Mercier because it's amazing), and then I use L'Oreal True Minerals powder over the top. The powder is great and gives you a really good finish.

This make-up malarkey is a bit new to me but I'm making the effort because I'm getting on a bit and it does make me look better. :D

Ooh this is very good news. I've run out of foundation and as usual, wasn't that keen on the last lot and was at a loss as to what to try next and now I know! I've made some very expensive mistakes when it comes to

Tell me about it! I've got loads of half-finished foundation which I really must throw away!

I think it's about 7 or 8 squid - but it lasts for absolutely aaaages

Yup.
I don't use a special base. The Benefit Dr Feelgood one is wonderful but a luxury type thing not a neccesity imo. I just use plain ole moisturiser before applying foundation and voila. :)

I have to use one or the foundation sometimes just sits in lumpy patches on my skin :o I buy the bodyshop one, use it every day and it still lasts me months.

Well I have bought some L'Oreal perfect match on your advice laydees. I just hope for your sake it doesn't end up to be Another Expensive Mistake

:D

I haven't got any yet - I was all set to buy some Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect, after loads of recommendations on another board, but I put some on the back of my hand and it smelt minging!

I dont like wearing foundation as they feel heavy, i usually go for a tinted moisturiser if anything but have looked pale and heavy eyes recently so tried the mousse foundation which isnt too heavy, mineral powders are quite good, light and evens out skin tones well.

I think this smells okay. I didn't check but my arm which I tested it on doesn't smell now. I'll report back

10 hour sleep effect? You want a vallie, not foundation! :D

Bet you get spots ;)

I came out in spots once after using a 'Max Factor' :D ;) foundation I bought on East St market for about two quid. :o

I usually have completely insensitive skin so fuck knows what was in it.

At the mo i'm using Rimmel's Recover foundation and an old Tesco's (barbara daly's range) stick thingy...........

never get spots and have quite a sensative skin.

I've never bought an expensive brand !

I was looking at Rimmel - the fact that it's less than £5 attracted me, and I've also used a lot of their other stuff over the years and quite liked it.

At the weekend I just wore tinted moisturiser on it's own and got told I looked very fresh and glowing, so I might stick with it for now.

Rimmel hydrasense is quite good and sorts you out if you have dry skin.

I like Barbara Daily's oil free foundation too.

Usually it goes simple moisturiser mixed with benefit you rebel, touche eclat, rimmel hydrasense or benefit foundation, then bronzing pearls.

I use that Dr Feelgood sometimes but not usually under stuff, just when I'm not wearing anything on my face. Maybe I'm using it wrong?

Should really get some powder too as that helps reduce the shine...

So you wear tinted moisturiser and foundation as well?

I find that You Rebel followed by L'Oreal True Match Mineral Powder is a great combination. :)
