As for the idea that a "5 stories [sic] high" mosque is going to make Harrow any more of a tip than it has been for the last 50 years or so, I find that a bit hard to swallow.
I mean, lets not kid ourselves, out that far in N. and N.W. London, most of the 20th century housing is built around industrial developments of Victorian and Edwardian vintage, and hardly the epitome of architectural artifice.

I am in my 30's, my grandmother used to take me to Wembley for a treat.
When Idi Amin chucked the South Asians out of Uganda and Brent Council in their wisdom opted to house them in Wembley the area has turned in to the pits. Reminds me of reading Clive Bloom's "Violent London" and Jerry White's "London in the Nineteenth Century: A Human Awful Wonder of God" and "The History of London in the Twentieth Century" which all go on at length about the historical squalor of Notting Hill and many other areas.

Just yesterday I had an 86 year old lady in my cab. Her one trip out is to go to a model/hobby shop, I collected her and waited for her.
