T-Mobile's inexplicably stupid upgrading policy

Thoughtfully, T Mobile have just written to me to quote my original complaint in its entirety and add nothing else. Thanks guys! Love you!

They're making a paper trail for you, just in case you're unorganised. How nice.

e2a: So, what are you gonna get instead of the G1?

I don't know to be honest. Naively, I thought that armed with my decade's worth of loyalty, I could have negotiated a 12 month deal for the G1 but clearly that's not going to happen now.

One option would be to jump out for a month and return as a new customer and then (I guess) flog the phone in a year's time if something new and exciting rocks up (although I have to say that I'm not feeling inclined to put a penny back into T Mobile's coffers right now.)

Is it available on a 12 month contract? Everyone seems to have switched to 18 month plans now, and the deals available with 12 months are usually crappy.

O2 account set up, sim card winging it's way to me, PAC code at the ready to move my number over, 7 days until I'm a very happy KE!

Really not trying to rub salt in the wounds or annoy anyone but My G1 turned upto today. Managed to get the Black one, so far my initial early impressions are good but want to put it through it's paces a bit before I pass my first judgement.
